The F. Ross Holland Award is considered the lighthouse community's highest honor. The award, named in honor of F. Ross Holland, a historian who worked for the National Park Service for many years and authored multiple lighthouse books, was originated by the American Lighthouse Coordinating Committee and is now presented by the United States Lighthouse Society.
