Miscellaneous Remarks: Keeper complains of his boat as being too large to hoist up conveniently; & as drawing too much water. He would like to have a good "skiff" sent him in place of boat furnished. This boat had already been taken to Baltimore by the Engineer.
Condition
Lantern: It was in very good condition.
Illuminating Apparatus: Lens was in excellent condition. Very clean.
Service Lamp: It was in good condition in all respects.
Oil: Specimen examined & found to be perfectly clean & clear. It has been filtered.
Service Lamp Burner: It was free from gummy or burnt oil, clean & the wick well trimmed.
Service Lamp Burner Level: It was found to be level.
Plate Glass: It was clean, free from scratches & stains but one of the panes had been broken at the corner in putting it in.
Lens Cover: It was off, was clean made of cotton ticking, & is placed in one of the rooms below when not in use.
Lantern Curtains: They were not up; were clean, made of white linen sheeting & are kept in one of the rooms below when not in use.
Carillon or Alarm Bell: There is no alarm bell.
Rod Lamp: There was a rod lamp clean & ready for use; Keeper knows the object for which it was furnished.
Dwelling: Dwelling was in very good condition.
Stairway and Landing: Very clean.

Lens: Lens is never touched improperly.
Lantern and Trap Doors: These doors fit tightly.
Watch or Trimming Room: These things were all in their proper places & were not seen.
Lucernes or Matches: Matches were seen in one of the rooms. The impropriety was pointed out to the Keeper.
Heater: The Keeper understands how to use the heater.
Ventilation: Keeper understands use of the ventilators & how to air the bldg.
Dome: They were painted according to instructions & lightning conductor was in perfect order.

Oil Room Condition: In very good condition; ventilated by windows & doors; floor clean.
