According to Seacoast Online, crews have stripped Nubble Lighthouse in York down to bare steel was they prepare to repaint the 1879 tower.

$15M Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse, FL, shoreline stabilization project nears completion with new boardwalk, plantings
The land surrounding the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse is getting a major makeover.
A $16 million shoreline stabilization project is in its final months, bringing new recreational amenities and critical erosion protections to one of South Florida's most recognizable landmarks.

Bolivar Point Lighthouse, TX, honored at Sunday open house, foundation seeks restoration
The Bolivar Point Lighthouse Preservation Foundation hosted an open house Sunday, Sept. 13, 2026, at the lighthouse grounds, inviting the community to tour the historic site and hear from the descendants working to preserve it for future generations.
For 154 years, the Bolivar Point Lighthouse has stood watch over the entrance to Galveston Bay, its iron walls bearing the marks of hurricanes, war and time itself.

Renovation project begins in Neenah for Kimberly Point Lighthouse, WI

Travels along the Cape Fear: 'Old Baldy' Lighthouse, Museum, NC
This morning I am at the mouth of the Cape Fear. I can see 'Old Baldy," the island's lighthouse, just down the road here.
Beyond the inlet, I can see the Oak Island Light. Across the way is Cape Fear, Frying Pan Shoals and the Atlantic.

A father & 6-year-old daughter came across wreckage while fishing off a Wisconsin island, and state archaeologists say the timbers are likely a schooner that ran onto the shoal in October 1871 in smoke so thick the island's lighthouse keeper kept his light buring through the day
The Wisconsin historical Society's 2023-2024 Field Report sets the scene in two flat sentences: in early October strong winds, extreme heat and dry conditions fueled several forest fires across the region, and large fires burned unabated for days.
Two of them acquired names. The one that consumed large section of Chicago for 8 to 12 October became the Great Chicago Fire, and the one that burned through northern Wisconsin became the Peshtigo Fire.

Gathering together for healing at the Children's Memorial at the Edgartown Lighthouse, MA
At the base of Edgartown Lighthouse are 1,144 stones, each one engraved with the name of a child who died.
For the past 25 years, loved ones have gathered on the beach for the Ceremony of Remembrance, a day to honor the memory of their children and care for the stones that bear their names.
