U.S. Coast Guard launches search for suspect in Wisconsin Point lighthouse beacon theft, WI

Authorities in northern Wisconsin are searching for those responsible for a lighthouse beacon theft.

2 historic Michigan lighthouses to split $120K in preservation grants

Two historic Michigan lighthouses - one in Grand Haven and the otters in the Upper Peninsula- will split $120,000 in grants.

Hunting Island Lighthouse, SC, set to reopen Tuesday after four-year restoration project

The Hunting Island Lighthouse is set to reopen to the public Tuesday morning after being closed for four years for restoration work and safety improvements.

Iconic Algoma lighthouse, WI, moved from waterfront to Sturgeon Bay for facelift amid pier work

As of Tuesday afternoon, the view looking out at Lake Michigan from Algoma is a bit different.

City of Biloxi, MS, extends lighthouse restoration timeline

Restoration work at the Biloxi Lighthouse will take another three to four weeks to finish.

In Washington, Grays Harbor, the state's tallest lighthouse marks a beach town

Grays Harbor is one of the very few outer-coast harbors in Washington, which is why the federal government put a 107-foot lighthouse at its mouth in 1898.

Work begins on iconic Big Sable Point Lighthouse, MI, in preparation for $450K restoration 

This landmark Lake Michigan lighthouse will remain open for tours during a major renovation project scheduled for next summer.

A bronze ring engraved with the Lighthouse of Alexandria has been found in Cleopatra's Sunken Harbor

An archaeological mission has recovered a bronze signet ring engraved with the Lighthouse of Alexandria from the sunken harbor of Cleopatra's city.

Egyptian officials say it is the first time the image of this Wonder of the Ancient World has appeared on a ring of this kind.
