From the outside looking in, the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse is one of the most picturesque symbols of Volusia County.

But from the inside looking out, it's a much different perspective. Views from the top of Florida's tallest lighthouse, at 175 feet, show the interaction between the salty Atlantic Ocean and brackish Intracoastal Waterway.

Lewes officials explore options to preserve Harbor of Refuge Lighthouse, DE

The future of the Harbor of Refuge Lighthouse remains uncertain, but one thing is clear: community leaders want to preserve the historic landmark.

Members of the Lewes Parks and Recreation Commission recently reviewed a proposal from the Delaware River and Bay Lighthouse Foundation to relocate the lighthouse from the deteriorating Delaware Breakwater before erosion threatens the structure.

Poverty Island Lighthouse, MI: 'America's Most Endangered Lighthouse'

New Lorain Lighthouse, OH, camera helps save boaters caught in rough waters

The Lorain County Visitors Bureau purchased a new livestream camera that was installed on the Lorain Lighthouse and is being lauded for saving boaters who were in danger as they ran into trouble on the water.

A man bought the Hooper Island Lighthouse, MD, for $192,000 and turned its 1900s ruins into a superstructure: "I started getting obsessed"

His commitment to preserving historic landmarks led him to take on the restoration of a century-old lighthouse standing in the Chesapeake Bay off the coast of Maryland.

Trinty House taps Norwegian builder for new lighthouse tenders

British maritime safety and welfare organisation Trinity House has selected Norwegian shipbuilder Vard for the construction of two multi-function buoy and lighthouse maintenance vessels.
